Muscat is the capital of the Sultanate of Oman and its largest city. It is located on the eastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula and is considered one of the most important cities in the region, both economically and culturally. Muscat has a long history dating back to ancient times, as it was a significant trade center between the East and the West. The city is surrounded by mountains on one side and the sea on the other, giving it a picturesque natural scenery. Today, Muscat is a modern and developed city, featuring many tourist attractions such as: • Al Alam Palace: the official residence of the Sultan. • The Grand Mosque: one of the largest mosques in Oman, noted for its unique architectural design. • Mutrah Souq: a historic market filled with shops selling goods.
