Overview
Yanqul is a mountain wilayat in Ad Dhahirah Governorate, Oman, set among rocky peaks and valleys in the northwest of the country. It is known for Yanqul Fort and the historic Bait Al Marah Castle, one of Oman's largest, as well as oasis farming fed by natural springs and aflaj. The surrounding hills carry a long heritage of copper working in the wider Dhahirah region.
