Overview
The Daymaniyat Islands, a protected marine reserve off the Al Batinah coast, are Oman's premier dive destination: hard-coral gardens alive with turtles, rays, moray eels and dense reef fish, and, in late summer, visiting whale sharks. Diving runs year-round, but the water is at its clearest, warmest and calmest in September and October. Landing on the islands is closed in the warmer months to protect nesting turtles and birds, but boat diving and snorkelling carry on throughout.
