Overview
When the cool season arrives, the interior desert becomes comfortable enough to sleep out in, and the Sharqiya Sands, better known as the Wahiba, come into their own. Days sit in the pleasant twenties, nights turn crisp and clear, and the great golden dunes glow at sunrise and sunset. It is the signature northern winter experience: overnight desert camps, dune drives, camel rides and Bedouin hospitality, all impossible in the furnace of summer.
