Overview
Al Qabil is a wilayat in the Ash Sharqiyah North Governorate of Oman, at the northwest edge of the Sharqiyah Sands. It is known for the old merchant town of Al Mudhayrib with its dawudi falaj and tower houses, a fort at Al Qabil, and around fifty traditional aflaj. The nearby Shenah oasis holds one of Oman's largest concentrations of Bronze Age beehive tombs.
