Overview

Wadi Al Maawil is an inland wilayat in Al Batinah South Governorate, Oman, set in a farming valley south of Barka where the Batinah plain meets the foothills of the Al Hajar Mountains. Aflaj channels water its date gardens and village farms, and old forts and watchtowers stand among the settlements. It is often mistaken for part of Barka but is a wilayat in its own right.
