Overview
Shinas is a coastal wilayat in Al Batinah North Governorate, Oman, the northernmost stretch of the Batinah coast near the United Arab Emirates border. Long a strategic settlement on the approaches to the Strait of Hormuz, it is a fishing and farming district today. Its historic fort, beaches and coastal khors with mangrove inlets define the shore.

Getting there
