Overview

Al Amerat is a largely residential wilayat in the hills south of central Muscat, Oman, reached by a winding mountain road from Ruwi. It has few standalone visitor sights of its own, though the coastal spots of Qantab and Bandar Al Jissah lie on its edge toward the sea. It is the fifth most populous wilayat in Muscat Governorate.
