Overview
Muqshin is a remote desert wilayat in the northeastern corner of Dhofar Governorate, Oman, on the southeastern edge of the Empty Quarter (Rub' al Khali). It is a sparsely populated area of sand dunes, artesian wells and ghaf woodland that historically served as a caravan watering point, and today sits within Oman's southern oil region. It has essentially no tourism infrastructure.

Getting there
Around 4 to 4.5 hours north of Salalah via the desert highway (around 345 km).
