About
The National Museum is Oman's flagship national museum, located in Old Muscat opposite the Al Alam Palace and opened in 2016. It presents Omani heritage across 14 permanent galleries covering themes such as maritime history, arms, the aflaj irrigation system, currency, Islamic art and the modern Renaissance, drawing on a collection of thousands of objects. It was the first museum in the region to use Arabic Braille signage for visitors with visual impairment.
