About
Rustaq Fort is a large historic fortress in the Rustaq province of South Al Batinah, Oman, standing at the edge of the Batinah plain below the Hajar mountains. The present structure was rebuilt by the first imams of the Ya'ruba dynasty in the 17th century on earlier foundations, and features four towers, the tallest rising more than 18 metres. The nearby Ain al-Kasfah hot spring flows at around 45 degrees Celsius and is valued for its sulphurous, therapeutic waters.
