Ayn Athum is a spring set against a tall rock face east of Salalah, toward Taqah. During khareef, water cascades down the cliff and gathers in pools below, drawing crowds who come to sit under the mist and greenery. Outside the monsoon it quietens to a bare rock amphitheatre, still striking for its scale. It lies on the same eastern springs circuit as Ayn Razat, an easy pairing on a mountain-edge loop.
The waterfall only runs in and just after khareef; dry the rest of the year.
