Tourist Attraction

Taqah Castle is a restored 19th-century fort in the coastal town of Taqah, between Salalah and Mirbat. Once the residence of a local wali (governor), it now houses a museum of Dhofari daily life, with furnished rooms, weapons, and old photographs. Its towers give views over the fishing town and the sea. Compact and quick to visit, it fits neatly into an eastern loop with Sumhuram, Wadi Darbat and the coast.
Small entry fee; easily combined with Sumhuram and Wadi Darbat to the east.
