About

Wadi Darbat is a lush valley in the Dhofar mountains above Taqah, and the scenic heart of Salalah's khareef season. Fed by the summer monsoon, its river spills over a wide travertine cliff into pools where visitors picnic, paddle boats and watch camels graze on the green slopes. Outside the monsoon the waterfall slows to a trickle, but the lakes, caves and birdlife make it a calm stop year-round. It pairs naturally with Taqah and Sumhuram on an eastern day trip from Salalah.

Visitor Notes

Peak flow is in and just after khareef; boat and pedalo rentals by the lake.
