Tourist Attraction

The Salalah khors are coastal lagoons where mountain streams meet the sea, forming reed-fringed wetlands that are among Oman's best birdwatching sites. Flamingos, herons and hundreds of migratory species gather at the in-town lagoons - East Khawr is the most reliable - especially after khareef when the lagoons fill. Calm and scenic, they are an easy nature stop beside the coast road.
East Khawr is free and the best flamingo spot; Khawr Rawri (Sumhuram) charges separately.
