Along the rugged coast of Ash Sharqiyah South, Oman, many dhows have stranded and been preserved on the beaches by salt and heat; a very accessible wreck of about 250 tons sits on the east coast (wrecked in 1993) and is a well-known photo spot. Visitors find and photograph the rusted hulls and stranded dhows scattered around the shoreline.
