About
Muttrah Souq is one of the oldest markets in Oman, set beside the harbour in the Muttrah district of Muscat and dating back around two hundred years. Locally nicknamed Al Dhalam ('darkness') for its narrow covered lanes, it sells frankincense, spices, Omani silver jewellery, textiles, and handicrafts. It remains a major trading and shopping destination, especially busy during Eid.
