Overview
Adam is the southernmost wilayat of Ad Dakhiliyah Governorate, Oman, and the last fertile oasis before the road drops toward the desert and the Empty Quarter. It sits on the main Nizwa-Salalah highway, making it a natural gateway between the interior and the south, about 225 km from Muscat. The town is the ancestral home of Imam Ahmad bin Said, founder of the Al Busaidi dynasty, and preserves Adam Fort and several historic mosques amid falaj-fed orchards.
