Nizwa is a city in Ad Dakhiliyah, Oman, and a historic former capital. Set among date-palm oases at the foot of the Hajar Mountains, it is known for the round-towered Nizwa Fort, a lively souq famous for its Friday livestock market, silverware and pottery, and as the gateway to Jebel Akhdar and Jebel Shams.
