Overview
Bidbid is the first wilayat of Ad Dakhiliyah Governorate, Oman, reached when driving inland from Muscat, sitting where the plains meet the Hajar Mountains about 70 km from the capital. It acts as a link between the interior, the eastern region, Al Dhahirah and the south, and is best known for the restored Bidbid Fort and the wadis that cut into the nearby hills. Some light industry has grown up around the town given its position on the main route.

Getting there
