About

Al Hamra is a historic town in the Ad Dakhiliyah region of Oman, known for its cluster of well-preserved mud-brick houses built in the Yemeni style. Some of these homes rise two to four storeys and were made from palm beams and fronds topped with mud and straw, dating back roughly 400 years to the Ya'ruba era. Set at the foot of the Hajar mountains, it is among the oldest surviving traditional settlements in Oman.
