Samail Fort is a 17th-century fort on high ground over the Samail valley in Ad Dakhiliyah, Oman, once home to the wali and judge and used as a prison, and restored in 2008. Visitors explore its circular towers, fortified stores and living quarters, with commanding views over the oasis and the Sumail Gap.
