About
Salut Archaeological Site (Husn Salut) is an Iron Age fortified settlement in Ad Dakhiliyah Governorate, Oman, dating from about 1300 to 300 BCE where Wadi Sayfam meets Wadi Bahla. It features a massive stone wall, a hilltop citadel and the lower town of Qaryat Salut, excavated by the Italian Mission since 2004. Visitors walk marked paths around the fortified hill, citadel and lower settlement, viewing walls, terraces and early aflaj-type channels.
